Celebrating 50 years at Harwell & Plant in 2024, Mr. Plant brings unmatched experience to the practice areas he specializes in. After a highly successful career as a trial lawyer, the second half of Mr. Plant's tenure at the firm has focused on the need for Elder Law and Estate Planning services. Through his membership in the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and other activities addressing themselves to the special needs related to financial planning for individuals with handicaps or the personal inability to manage their own funds. Mr. Plant also curates a blog titled Eye on Elder Care which focuses on providing information for those with Elder Care needs. Mr. Plant frequently makes presentations to church groups, retired teacher organizations, parents with special needs children, elder citizens and others directly related to elder care issues.

Ben Bush, Esq.

Of Counsel

James Bennett “Ben” Bush is of counsel for Harwell and Plant. He is a proven trial lawyer who handles both civil and criminal litigation. Ben grew up in a small community in Eastern Arkansas where his father was a farmer. Ben’s parents instilled in him the value of hard work and education. Ben even worked his way through Nashville School of law while teaching in the Lawrence County School System. He finished in the top 10 of his class and was accepted into the American Inns of Court.             

 

Ben lives in Summertown, Tennessee, and has four energetic children. Ben is married to Ashley Mabry Bush, a tremendous support and loving mother. He is a dedicated attorney you can trust who zealously advocates for his clients in a civilized manner. Whether it be Chancery, Circuit, General Sessions, or Juvenile Court, Ben is more than capable of getting the job done!

Brent McKamey, Esq.

Of Counsel

Brent McKamey is a native of Lawrence County, graduating from Lawrence County High School in 2008. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He obtained his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Nashville School of Law in 2020 while graduating with Awards of Excellence in Tennessee Constitutional Law and Domestic Relations Practice. 

 

Currently, he serves on the Board of Directors for the Employee Resources Credit Union, is the Vice Chairman on the Board of Trustees for the Lawrenceburg Public Library, and is a member of the Lawrenceburg Kiwanis Club. 

 

He and his wife, Emily McKamey, share a beautiful daughter, Olivia Kathleen McKamey. Emily is a local family nurse practitioner for Niswander Family Medicine in Lawrence County, Tennessee. They actively serve and attend church at Pulaski Street Church of Christ in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.
